About Me

Hi

My name is Shriya Viswanathan. I am currently a Senior at Plano Senior High School. Now where do I begin to tell you about me? I have a wide variety of interests. Lots of things in the world fascinate me and I dig in deep to try and understand them. There are a lot of fun things I do, many of which started out as just hobbies as a child. I started learning to play the piano when I was very young and love to play jazz piano. I love art and photography. I started playing squash before I was 8 years old. This past year I was fortunate that I could lead the Texas team to victory in the interscholastic event in Philadelphia as Team Captain. A few years back I was part of Team USA at the British Junior Open. You can see pictures of me doing all of these activities and I hope you find them to be as much fun as I have doing them.

I also co-founded a non-profit named Brightpath Foundations - learn more about it here:brightpathfoundations.org. Of course if you would like to contribute to our mission, please reach out! Earlier in 2025 we combined two of my passions - squash and Brightpath Foundations by organizing a fund raiser squash tournament, which was awesome. Lots of International talented players attended and I was fortunate that it received recognition from major civic leaders ranging from the mayors of Plano and Garland to Senator Cornyn.

I love to travel. When I was young we went to so many of the National Parks in the US, India and Canada. Let me tell you about my last two summers. Last year (2024) I spent my summer working at a venture capital firm in Bangalore, India which gave me a great insight into what it takes to build a business and get it funded. This summer (2025) I was at the M&T Summer Institute in Philadelphia for an absolutely awesome experience combining my passion in technology with business at the Wharton school.

I started work on an idea for a science fair project which became an issued patent for a device called UV Savior. In the past year I have been focusing on my startup Neuroflux (neurofluxai.org). Explainable AI, especially in medical contexts is a big problem to solve and that is what we are attempting to do with Neuroflux. Neuroflux is based on research that was published in the IJHSR journal. While UVSavior and Neuroflux both provided me opportunities to pursue my interests from research to commercialization, I also conducted some pure research on colorectal cancer for the past 3 years. This has been presented at numerous forums.
